Thomas Joseph Smith, 73, peacefully passed away March 17, 2023 at his home in Georgia, surrounded by his beloved wife, Barbara, his daughters and a brother, Eddie. "Tommy" was born in Peckville, Pa., to Kathryn and Donald Smith of Scott Twp., Pa. Tom was a graduate of Scott High School class of 1967. After high school, he worked part time as a Scott Twp. police officer and became a Journeyman sprinkler fitter and member of Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters Union. While living in Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Scott Twp. Fire Company. Later, he was a truck driver for several different trucking companies and retired from Thunderbird Trucking, Georgia in 2011. Tommy loved remodeling houses, gardening and yard work, traveling with Barb and their dogs in his RV, and hunting and fishing. His family meant the world to him, and every chance he got, he came back to Pennsylvania for a visit with his mom, dad and siblings. In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his daughters, Alice Hawley and Alicia Ferra-Cadillo; and grandchildren, Sidney and Chase Hawley. He is also survived by his siblings, Alice (Robert) Uzialko, Donald J. (Cathy) Smith, Evelyn (Neil) Burke, Eleanor (Ralph) Baldinucci, Eric (Marlene) Smith, Annelle (Robert) Sakosky, Sandy (Timothy) Smith, Kathleen (Philip) Troiani, Edward (Michele) Smith, James (Jennifer) Smith, and William (Kerri) Smith. He also has several nieces, nephews, and grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn W. Smith; and three nephews, Nicholas Robert Mickavicz, Evan Uzialko and Jason Smith.
