Mildred “Millie” Bulat, formerly of Dunellen, NJ and Coconut Creek, FL, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at her residence in Blakely, PA, at the age of 100. Born on January 8, 1925, in Finderne, NJ, Mildred lived a long and fulfilling life marked by love, devotion, support, cherished memories, and a wonderful sense of humor.
Born to immigrant parents, Achille and Maria Savio, she was a graduate of Bound Brook High School. It was there she met the love of her life, Francis X Bulat. They were united in marriage in 1944 and settled in Dunellen, NJ, where they lovingly raised their two daughters, Francine and Nancy. Millie worked for RCA Records until her retirement, dedicating herself to both her career and her family.
Millie enthusiastically lived life and valued her active lifestyle. After retirement, she became a standout golfer with her companion, Jim Esposito, demonstrating her energetic spirit. She then moved to Florida later in life to embrace the sunshine and hours by the pool. It was there that she shared a meaningful companionship with Mike Rubin.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis, dear sister, Yolanda, cherished daughter, Francine, and adored grandson, Christopher.
She is survived by her devoted youngest daughter, Nancy McGowan, of Jessup, PA; who lovingly cared for Millie in her final years. Her grandchildren, Cynthia Turkington and her husband, Fred, of Ashland, MA, Melissa Snyder and her husband, Mark, of Jessup, PA, William McGowan and his wife, Deborah, of Audubon, PA, and John McGowan and his wife, Demetria, of Jermyn, PA. Mildred also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren: Shannon, Meghan, Rileigh, Maggie, Connor, Emme, Liam, Declan, and Maeve, who continually brought immense joy and vibrancy into her life.
A private memorial service will take place in Dunellen, New Jersey. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Mid-Valley HealthCare Center for the care and compassion shown to Millie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hudak O’Shea Funeral Home, Donna M. O’Shea, Funeral Director, 115 N. Garfield Ave., Olyphant PA.
