Michael Bruce Gruber (Michel Baruch), 59, of Olyphant died Thursday at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. His wife of 36 years is the former Joy Fligleman.
Born in Brooklyn, he is the son of Ada Brumer Gruber and late Arthur Gruber. He attended Brooklyn schools and graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in accounting. He worked for Emerald Lakes Association in Long Pond for the past 20 years.
Mike enjoyed bowling, running and walking his dogs. He was an avid New York sports fan watching the Yankees, Knicks and Giants games regularly.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Gruber; a daughter, Melissa Strickler and husband, Damien; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Gruber, who died Sept. 1, 2017.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home,
115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant. Internment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
Friends may visit from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
