Margaret Evanina

Margaret Evanina, 100 years young, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 22.  Her husband, John Evanina, died in 1982. 

Born in the Pittsburgh area, she resided in Olyphant most of her life and was the daughter of the late Anna Jama and Michael Demian. She was a member of St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star over 50 years.

She is survived by five children: Pat Hubert (Jack) of Tunkhannock, Peggy of Olyphant, Tami deSanto (Mike) of Dickson City, John Jr. (Eileen) Evanina and Gregory Evanina (finace, Deanna) all of Olyphant; two brothers: Basil and Nicholas Demian, both of Olyphant; eight grandchildren: Logan DeSanto, Johnny Evanina, Samantha Evanina, Sarah Gombar, Alexandra Heggins, Kristen Huff and Michael and Christopher Pisanchyn; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter Demian and Michael Demyan.

Our mom was a special lady in so many ways.  Always there for each one of us. She will be deeply missed.

Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family.
