Karen M. Kulick, 64, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, passed away on Wednesday night at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mary Popiwchak Kulick.
A 1975 graduate of Mid Valley High School, Olyphant, Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and solving Sudoku puzzles. When she was younger, she enjoyed drawing and making pysanky, Ukrainian Easter eggs.
She is survived by a son, Chuck McCann and his wife, Jeanette of Hooversville; a daughter, Karah Rickaby and her husband, Jareth of Scranton; granddaughters: Ryanna and Katrina McCann; brothers: Joseph Kulick of Olyphant and Lenny Kulick of Blakely.
Divine Liturgy will be held on Monday at 9:30am at SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 River Street, Olyphant with Fr. Nestor Iwasiw, officiating.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery in Peckville.
Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7pm at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
The family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.
