June Ann Petrone

June A. Petrone, 90, of Dickson City, died on Saturday morning at Mid Valley Health Care Center, Peckville.  Her husband was the late Robert J. Petrone who died on January 23, 2011. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

Born in Dickson City on July 20, 1932, she resided there for the last 56 years. Her parents were the late John and Bridget Slonsky Tokarchik. She attended Dickson City Schools and was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Dickson City and their Confraternity of ChristianMothers. She worked at the Globe Store, Anemostat and Gold and Gifts in the Viewmont Mall before retiring.

She is survived by a son, Robert Petrone and wife, Cynthia of Peckville; a daughter, Robin Pypiak and husband, Peter of Jefferson Township; grandchildren: Jennifer Mihiylov & husband Matthew, Beaufort, S.C.; Robert Petrone & fiancé Ivy Horton, Tucson Az.; Kyle Ann Zeoli & husband John, Archbald; John Pypiak and fiancé Erika Davis, Dickson City; step-grandchildren: George & Heather Rowlands Nicholas & Nicole Rowlands, William Rowlands and Autumn Rockwell; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant sister Mary, Dickson City.

She enjoyed gardening, nature, feeding wild animals, travel, vacations, car rides and trips to the casino.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10AM at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1090 Carmalt St., Dickson City.  Msgr. Patrick J. Pratico, pastor, will preside. Interment of cremains will follow at St. Mary's Visitation Mausoleum, Dickson City. 

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
