James Kimble, 54, of Lancaster, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 9. Jim is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathleen (Kelley) and his son Noah, age 17. Born on April 18, 1967, he was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Ann Kimble, brother of Lewis and wife Zoe, sister Cheryl Ann, brother Dave, son-in-law of the late Richard and Jean Kelley, brother-in-law of the late Richard Kelley and wife Maureen, sister-in-law Mary Kearney and husband Thomas, brother-in-law John Kelley and wife Lori, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jim was a 1985 graduate of Abington Heights High School and a 1992 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Health Policy and Administration. Jim was employed at Genesis and Xanitos Inc. for the past 20 years, serving as Director of Environmental Services at hospitals in Morgantown WV, Chattanooga TN, Altoona PA and most recently as Residential Regional Director of Environmental Services at Buffalo General Hospital, NY.
Jim was a great friend to all who knew him and easily made new friends in all his travels. He was an avid Penn State fan who proudly displayed his colors while living in WVA, TN, PA and NY. Jim was an extremely proud father who closely followed his son Noah’s accomplishments in football and basketball. He also served as a youth coach during Noah’s early playing days. Jim was also an avid and accomplished golfer and former Muni rat who last year had his first hole in one playing in a tournament where he was awarded a new car for his feat.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 12 noon at Holy Cross Parish, at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant by Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, pastor. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday morning from 9 am to 11:30am at the Hudak O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Burial will follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
