Francine A. Mead, 77, of Scranton, died on August 18th at home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth.
Born in Biloxi, MS, her parents were the late Francis and Mildred Bulat, Olyphant. Prior to moving to Scranton, she raised her family in Basking Ridge, NJ before moving to Clinton, CT and later Coconut Creek, FL. Francine owned and operated two successful businesses: Mead Advertising and The Works T-Shirt Shop. Later in her career she retired after more than a decade of service from Yale New Haven Hospital.
Family meant everything to Fran. She enjoyed large family gatherings as much as one-on-one conversations.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Mead of Scranton; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Fred Turkington of Ashland, MA; her two adoring granddaughters: Shannon and Meghan Wood of whom she was incredibly proud; her sister, Nancy McGowan of Olyphant, PA who she loved and cherished deeply; several special nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friends who she treasured deeply for their close relationships.
