Deborah Oles Leonardo, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, died on Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Her husband of 42 years is Donnie Leonardo. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Paul Oles and Theresa Jarrow Oles, Olyphant. She was a 1973 graduate of Mid Valley High School, a 1974 graduate of Lackawanna Jr. College and was previously employed at Harper Collins Publishing, Dunmore. Debbie was passionate about cooking and baking, and truly loved entertaining her family and friends. She is also survived by two sons, Vincent and Dominick Jr., both of Olyphant; one brother, Paul Oles, Olyphant; a sister, Marie Priblo and husband, David, Olyphant; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemarie and Bruce Parri; brother–in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Debbie Leonardo; nieces and nephews, Bruce Parri and wife, Norma; Alex and Danielle Priblo; Frank and Lauren Leonardo. The family would like to thank the staff at Regional Hospital and the ICU doctors and nurses. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, by Msgr. Michael J. Delaney, pastor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. The family requests that donations may be made in Debbie’s memory to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.
