Anne Marie Boland

Anne M. Boland, 96, formerly of Blakely died on Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Villa, Elmhurst where she was a resident for the last three years. Her parents were the late John Edgar and Mary Lear Boland.

Born in Throop, she was a 1945 graduate of Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School, Philadelphia and was formerly an administrative assistant for Jewish Family Services, Scranton for 40 years. Anne was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant, their Confraternity of Christian Women, their former quilting group and was a volunteer at the church rectory for many years. She also loved to crochet and organized many bus trips for the Confraternity.

Anne is survived by her friend and caregiver, Catherine Curran of Scott Township; and her late cousin Helen Boland Clark’s children: Ellen Gay, godchild, Sheila Fitzgerald, Patricia Johnson and James Clark.

Anne was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Boland.

Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 10AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant by Rev. Phillip J. Sladicka, pastor of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. Friends may call from 9:30AM until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.
