Audrey Durkin, 91, of Olyphant, died on Tuesday night at Moses Taylor Hospital, Commonwealth Health, Scranton. Her first husband, Robert Lance, and her husband of 29 years, Joseph Durkin, who died in 1989, preceded her in death.
Born in Olyphant, she was a lifelong resident, and was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary C. Collins Tully. A very active member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant, she was involved with their ladies societies and quilting group. Audrey was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and was employed as a registered nurse. She enjoyed travel and trips to the casino.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan Durkin of League City, Texas; one son, Richard Durkin and wife, Jeanne of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, Cyril Tully of Scranton; and Bernard Tully of Olyphant; one sister-in-law, Dolores Tully of Olyphant; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Thomas, Charles, William, Robert, Gerard and Joseph Tully; and two sisters, Eileen Cobal and Mary Wilsey.
Mass will be on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant. Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.
Friends are asked to go directly to the church on Saturday morning.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
