Gene “Geno” Comonie, 59, of Olyphant and Browndale, died on Saturday morning. His wife was the late Maria L. Bruno Comonie, who died in 2009. They were married for 24 years.
Born in Peckville, he resided in Olyphant for most of his life and was the son of the late Leonard and Eleanor Plocha Comonie, Sr. He attended Mid Valley High School and Johnson Technical School and was employed as a plumber.
Geno enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a daughter, Gina, Olyphant; two grandsons: Devon and Donovan Hill; two brothers: Leonard, Jr., and wife, Alice, Olyphant and Paul and wife Cathy, Olyphant; a sister, Barbara Burda and husband, Robert, Scranton; his companion, Joyce Atkinson, Browndale; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie L. Galea.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 6:30PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4PM until time of service at the funeral home.
