Ida “Tiny” Ricciardi Ilacqua, 94, of Olyphant, died peacefully on Friday at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton, surrounded by her family. Her husband was the late Norman Ilacqua.
Born in Scranton, she resided in Syracuse, N.Y., before moving back to the Mid Valley. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret Ricciardi. She graduated from Olyphant High School and was employed in the local garment industry.
Tiny was a wonderful baker and cook who enjoyed dancing and going to the Turning Stone Casino with her friend, Jack.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Green Ridge Health Care Center and the PHHC Hospice for the compassionate care of Tiny.
She is survived by a her caregiver and nephew, Salvatore Ricciardi and wife, Lesa; and their daughter, Sammea; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Ricciardi; five nephews, the Rev. August A. Ricciardi Jr., Alex Ricciardi and wife, Debbie; Michael Ricciardi and wife, Chris; Robert Pettinatto Jr. and wife, Edie; and August Cornell; two nieces, Donna Byron and husband, Robert; and Philomena Schaefer; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, August Ricciardi; and Michael and Molly Ricciardi; and a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Pettinatto.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant. Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant, by her nephew, the Rev. August A. Ricciardi Jr. Burial will take place in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
