Joann Jessica Syryla

Joann J. Syryla (Guida), 49, of Olyphant, died on Sunday. Her parents are John S. and Ann M. Ksiazek Syryla. Born in Peckville, she resided in Olyphant most of her life. She was a 1984 graduate of Mid Valley High School. A beautiful woman inside and out, Joann was a great mother, a loving daughter, sister, aunt and niece. She is also survived by a daughter, Sydney Guida, Olyphant; a son, Mason Guida, Olyphant; a sister, Lora Syryla, Florida; 3 brothers: John Syryla and wife, Terri, Delaware, Stanley Syryla and wife, Lois, Scranton and Joseph Syryla and wife, Andrea, Connecticut; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Nancy Syryla and Sandra Dovin. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the scholarship funds for Mason and Sydney.
