Don Hancock, 64, of Olyphant died Monday at Geisinger-CMC, Scranton due to an illness. His wife is the former Teri Lukasik. They were married for 38 this past March.
Born in Carbondale, he was the son of Ervin and Leona Hughes Hancock. He was a graduate of Mt. View High School, Kingsley and was employed by Lackawanna River Basin Sewer Authority until his retirement in March 2014.
Don was a kind and generous person who would help anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, who were the light of his life.
He is also survived by a daughter, Melissa Sansone and husband, Brian, Peckville; a son, Gregory, Olyphant; two grandsons: Rocco and Vinnie Sansone; a sister, Salli Marquez, South Gibson; three brothers: Gerry and wife, Rose, Victor, NY, Ken and wife, Gloria, South Gibson and Jeff and wife, Lisa, Nicholson; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call on Thursday from 12:30PM until time of service.
