Ann Marie Elaine Callaghan Grunza, 59, of Eynon, died on Sunday morning at home after an illness. She is survived by her husband, Michael Grunza, of 17 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Grace A. Barrase Callaghan, Dunmore, and the late Thomas F. Callaghan Sr. She was a Dunmore High School graduate, class of 1974, and was employed by Supermarket Service for over 10 years and more recently, the Jewish Home for 12 years before her illness.
Ann Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who will be truly missed. She enjoyed listening to music, swimming in the pool and going to the beach. She was a person with a genuine heart who compassionately cared for others, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Ryan Urso, Phoenxiville; a daughter, Kelly Urso and husband, Jose Martinez, Olyphant; four grandchildren, Giana, Cataldo, Mariela and Carlos Francisco Martinez Urso; three sisters, Michelle Bowan and husband, Jeffrey; Mary Grace “GiGi” Miller and husband, Charlie; and Kathleen Liples and husband, Robert; a brother, Thomas Callaghan and wife, Kimberly; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family prefers that contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
