Keith R. Gensel, 65, of Archbald, died Saturday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his parents, Roland J. and Shirley D. Makemes Gensel.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he resided in Archbald for over 30 years. He was a 1968 graduate of Lake Lehman High School and attended Luzurne County Community College. Keith was an antique dealer for 30 years and then he worked for Turner Corp., Washington, D.C. as an area superintendent in construction, retiring in 2011. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, George M. Dallas Lodge #531, F.&A.M., Valley of Bloomsburg Consistery and Irem Shrine.
He loved to fish, hunt, camp, backpack and most of all, ride his motorcycle. His constant companion was the family dog, Molly, who he loved dearly.
He is also survived by two brothers: Calvin W. and wife Mary, Stuart, FL and Warren J., Weeki Wachee, FL; one niece, Jennifer Goldstein and her four children: Jesse, Aiden, Ily & Peter James, Jupiter, FL; two aunts: Helen Stewart, Sweet Valley and Gloria Ivy, Dallas; and several cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at the Memorial Shrine Park Chapel, 1831 W. 8th Street, Wyoming with Rev. Jay Best, pastor of Community Bible Church, Scott Twp. Masonic services will also be held. Burial will follow.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7PM at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
