Carl A. Pawlowski, 69, of Olyphant, died on Friday morning at Dept. Of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Pawlowski.
Born in Scranton, he was a resident of the Mid Valley most of he life. He moved to Olyphant 5 years ago. He was the son of the late Carl A. Pawlowski and a graduate of Olyphant High School. He also attended Lackawanna Business School. He was a photographer for over 50 years and was the owner of Carl’s Studio, Blakely. He retired in 1996.
Mr. Pawlowski was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Raymond Henry American Legion Post #327, Olyphant, where he served as Past Commander. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant a member of Noah Lodge F&AM Florida. He was a loving father, grandfather and son and loved doing carpentry work as a hobby.
He is survived by his mother, Mary B. McCarthy, Olyphant, three daughters, Carla Kucharski, Archbald, Cheryl Klem, Peckville, Lyn, Olyphant; one son, Carl M. Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Lorraine Clark, Moscow; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9AM on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Military services will be held at 8:50AM. Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lincoln Avenue, Olyphant. The Reverend Kenneth Kizis, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 9PM at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be held at 6:15PM
