Emily Valerie Partyka, 88, of Sayreville, NJ, died on Saturday morning at home. Her husband, Carl, preceded her in death in 1987.
Born in Olyphant, she was a resident of Olyphant before moving to Sayreville 14 years ago. Daughter of the late John and Regina Ptaszek Strojny, she was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville and a former member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene and Robert, both of Sayreville, and Carl of Parlin;
one brother John Strony, Dunmore; four grandchildren; one great granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Joseph, Stanley and Stephen.
The funeral will be held at 9AM on Tuesday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lincoln Avenue, Olyphant. The Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be held during this time.
