Jean Tokash, 84, of Blakely, died Saturday morning at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. Her husband of 57 years was the late Joseph Tokash.Born April 23, 1931, in Jessup, daughter of the late James and Gertrude Kearney Hoban, she attended Jessup schools. She resided in Blakely for 57 years before moving in with her daughter, Diane and son-in-law, Frank. Jean worked small jobs in her early years before getting married, becoming a housewife, and raising her children. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish and enjoyed going to Las Vegas with her husband, daughter and son-in-law, as well as frequenting the casinos in our area.She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by her entire extended family.The family would like to thank the staff at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center for the excellent care they provided for Jean during her final year.Surviving are a daughter, Diane Siderowicz and husband, Frank, Eynon; a son, Joseph and wife, Jeanne, Sayre; a daughter-in-law, Paula Tokash; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Isabelle, Brittany and Declan; several nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark; two sisters, Joan Turock and Ann Beneski; and three brothers, James, William and Francis Hoban.The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, to be celebrated by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney.
