Mary Pavlisko, 96, died on Saturday evening at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was the widow of the late William Pavlisko who died December 6, 1988. They were married 62 years.Born in Olyphant on February 2, 1908, she was formerly a resident of RD #1, Olyphant, Scott Twp. for 71 years. For the past three years she resided at Davis Manor, Mountaintop in the Personal Care and Assisted Living Section. She was the daughter of the late Simon and Anna Guman Lazar.She was employed for 25 years as a seamstress in Dickson City and was a member of ILGWU. She was a lifetime member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Greek Church, Olyphant and was also a member of Scott Township-Greenfield Seniors.She was a very active person who loved sewing, crocheting, baking and playing bingo. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are two daughters: Delores Van Fleet of Mountaintop and Joan Ann Burns of Lizton, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great-great granddaughters; one brother, Ted Lazar of Hawthorne, NJ; two sisters, Anna Yuhas of Philadelphia and Betty Mesko of Carlsbad, CA; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Pavlisko, two grandchildren, one sister, Helen Popovich, 5 brothers, Peter, John, Michael, Joseph and Stephen LazarThe funeral will be on Thursday at 9:30AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Divine Liturgy will follow at 10AM at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Greek Catholic Church, River St., Olyphant. Msgr. Stephen Hrynuck, pastor will preside. Interment will follow at the parish cemeteryFriends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. Parastas will be held at 7:30PM.
