Louise J McKeon

Louise J. McKeon, 63, of Blakely, died on Thursday morning at Hospice Preferred Choice, MidValley Hospital, Peckville.  Her parents were Robert D. and Genevieve M. Cavanaugh McKeon.Born in Blakely, she was a resident of Blakely for most of her life, but lived in Washington, D.C. for a few years in the 1960’s.  She graduated from Blakely High School in 1958 and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  She was also a member of the Irish Cultural Society and a great fan of Notre Dame football and she loved to travel.She was employed as a Police Communications Operator for the PA State Police, Dunmore Barracks.  She retired in 1994 with over 25 years of service.She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law: Patricia A. & Richard P. Markwith of Blakely and Marion L. Boldan of Omaha, NE; one brother and a sister-in-law: Thomas P. & Henrietta B. McKeon of Blakely; several nieces and nephews: Richard, Paul, and Robert Markwith, Maureen Pearcy, Julie, Joseph, Terrance and Rea Boldan, Thomas John, Kelly Jackson; 14 grand nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her brother Robert D., Jr.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.  Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.  Christian wake services will be held during this time.Her family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Moses Taylor Hospital Dialysis Unit, 700 Quincy Ave., Scranton, PA, 18510.
