Daniel “Butch” Tota, 62, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, died on Monday at home. He was the son of the late Daniel and Mary Paoletti Tota.Born in Peckville, he was educated in St. Patrick’s and Olyphant schools and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. He retired 3 months ago from Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp., Scranton with 38 years of service.He enjoyed hunting, watching sports and playing pool. He was a loving brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Roseanne and Joseph DiPietro of Dunmore and several cousins.He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph DiPietro, Jr.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Friday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant. The Reverend David Betts will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore.Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 9PM at the funeral home.
