Andrew R. Kondash, 68, of Peckville, died on Friday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. His wife is the former Ann Marie Hoffman. They celebrated their 48th anniversary on December 29th.
Born in Peckville, he was a lifelong resident. Son of the late Andrew M. and Anna Fedorchak Kondash, he was educated in Blakely School District and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.
He was the owner of Kondash Excavating and was retired from General Dynamics, Eynon.
He received an Honorable Medical Discharge from the United States Marine Corps.
A wonderful husband, father and grandfather, his family was his life. His daughters were his treasures and hunting with his sons his joy. He was also a model train enthusiast.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew G. and Lynn of Eynon and Jeffrey G. and Kathleen of Muenster, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Lee of Clarks Summit and Sandra and Kevin Keeley of Westminster, Maryland; two sisters, Eleanor Kurilla of Scranton and MaryAnn Hudak of Peckville; a brother, Robert of Townsend, Montana; 7 grandchildren, Courtney, Alyssa, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Megan, Jacey and Jeffrey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9AM on Wednesday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow St., Peckville by Rev. Santino J. Fanucci, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be held during this time.
