Sophie Youshock

Sophie Youshock, 94, of Olyphant died on Friday night at Dunmore Healthcare Center, Dunmore.  She was the wife of John Youshock, Sr. who died in 1992.Born in Herkimer, NY, she was the daughter of Walter and Helen Ukrainic Synyson and a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, Olyphant.She was very devoted to her family and her religion and was a very content person.She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Florence and Thomas Ponelli of Milford, CT; a brother and his wife, Walter and Ida Synyson of Rome, NY; three grandsons, Thomas, David and Kenneth Ponelli; two granddaughters, Claudine Youshock and Tiffany Green; 5 great grandchildren, Francesca, Thomas, Eric and Scott Ponelli and Lexie Green; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son and his wife, John, Jr. and Joyce Youshock and three sisters, Mary Sabatella, Madelyn Grunza and Pauline Nagurney.Funeral services will be on Monday at 9AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Divine Liturgy will follow at 9:30AM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Greek Catholic Church, River St., Olyphant.  Msgr. Stephen Hrynuck, pastor will preside. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home.  Parastas will be held at 6PM.
