Virginia Cantanzariti Pisancyhn, 77, of Olyphant, died on Monday morning at Mercy Hospital. Her husband, Roman, died in 1986.Born in Calabria, Italy, she came to Olyphant as a child and lived there the rest of her life. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lena Tripodi Cantanzariti and stepdaughter of the late Sam Bianco. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, Olyphant. She was a former co-owner of Olyphant Candy Kitchen and also worked as a seamstress.She enjoyed playing bingo.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed. A kind-hearted person, she thought of everyone else first. She was the best mother anyone could ask for.She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Debbie & Jayme Morano and Beverly & Jerry Bartlett, all of Olyphant; one son and his wife: Roman & Jennifer Pisanchyn of Olyphant; 4 sisters: Frances Lance of Pittsburg, Carmella Gillar of Olyphant, Vincetta Nestor of Lake Ariel and Mary Proppe of Forest City; 6 grandchildren: Michael & Christopher Pisanchyn, Jesse & Jayme Morano and Shayna & Saleena Bartlett; 2 great grandchildren: Emily & Alexander Morano; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Pisancyhn who died in 2003.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Friday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant. The Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka will officiate. Interment will take place in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Peckville.Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the funeral home. Christian wake services will be held during this time.
