Benedict A. Apolinario, Jr., 40, of Archbald, died on Sunday at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. His wife is the former Maria Theresa Calafut. They were married on October 1, 2004.Born in Quezon City, Philippines, he was raised in Philadelphia and resided in Archbald for the last ten years. His parents are Benedicto, Sr. and Leticia Agsalud Apolinario, Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School and attended Temple University, both in Philadelphia. He was formerly employed by Paper Magic Group and Dalton International and currently worked as the office manager at St. Mary’s Church, Avoca.He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. His love for God was clearly evident in the service he gave to the church: Eucharistic Minister, Liturgical Committee, Coordinator of Altar Servers, RCIA, Cursillo, Eucharistic Adoration and Prison Ministry. He was a prayerful man and a true witness to his faith each day.A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, he will be greatly missed by all. He made people laugh with his keen wit and sense of humor and had a contagious smile. The love that he held in his heart for his precious daughter will live on forever.He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Mary who was born on August 11, 2007; three sisters: Maria Garcia, Rowlett, TX, Nicetas Giordano, New Providence, NJ and Ofelia D’Aulerio, Warrington, PA; 6 nieces and nephew; and cousins.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Wednesday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant. The Reverend Thomas M. Muldowney will officiate. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends are asked to proceed directly to the church the morning of the funeral.Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.Contributions may be made to Kathryn Mary Apolinario Education Fund, c/o Funeral Home
