Mary E. Oprishko, 61, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, died on Thursday at home after an illness. Her husband of 38 years was George Oprishko. They celebrated their anniversary on April 25th.Born on April 24, 1947 in Peckville, her parents were the late John and Sophie Zywicki Greskovic. A graduate of St. Cyril’s Academy, Danville, she was employed by First Liberty Bank & Trust, Olyphant. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Raymond Henry Post #327, Olyphant.Mary was a dedicated and loving wife, a caring and understanding mother, a generous and supportive grandmother, an honest and reliable friend and a devoted Catholic. She was truly a remarkable woman and will be sorely missed by everyone’s lives that she touched.Surviving are a daughter, Meredith, Bethesda, MD; a son and his wife, George and Karin, Jessup; a son Jason, Philadelphia; and a granddaughter, Madalyn.She was preceded in death by a brother Gerard Greskovic.The family would like to thank VNA Hospice for their compassion.The funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 9:30AM at Holy Ghost Church, Willow Street, Olyphant. The Reverend Thomas M. Muldowney will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Blakely.Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.Friends are requested to go directly to church the morning of the funeral.
