Peggy A Bernosky

July 19, 1957 — June 30, 2008

Peggy A. Bernosky, 50, of Olyphant, died Monday at the VNA Hospice Unit of Community Medical Center from breast cancer. She and her husband, Jerry Bernosky, were happily married for 15 years.Born in Scranton, Peggy was a graduate of Bishop Hannan High School. She is the daughter of Yvette Gagnon and the late Raymond Gagnon, and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant and had a strong faith. As a cantor at the church, she loved leading the congregation in song. Singing with the choir in musical prayer was an endless pleasure.After graduating from Penn State Worthington, Peggy spent her entire career at The Paper Magic Group, Inc., Scranton, rising to the position of National Sales Manager prior to her illness. She enjoyed her work, reveled in the business world and was successful in every endeavor she pursued.Peggy took great delight in the world around her. Her friends, co-workers, and family can attest to her love of life. An accomplished bowler until injury forced her to quit, she then took up golf, loved the game and had a hole-in-one at the Witch Golf Club in Myrtle Beach. Shopping and making others feel at home around her were but a few of her passions. For those who loved her it will be impossible to fill the void left by her death, including her pet sheltie, Casey.She is survived by a step-daughter, Maryjane Bernosky, two granddaughters, Alisha and Hayle, Nevada; sisters Linda Norton and husband Brad, Clarks Summit, Jane Nagurney and husband, Dr. David, Throop; nieces Michelle Donahoe and Laura Fallon; and nephew Jeff Norton.The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant. Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor, will officiate.Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Lackawanna County, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA, 18411.Friends are requested to go directly to church the morning of the funeral.For directions or to leave online condolences visit www.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
