Rose Rutsky

Rose Rutsky, of Olyphant, died on Monday at Mercy Hospice at Mercy Hospital.  Her husband Michael died November, 1986.Born in Peckville, she was a resident of Olyphant most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Fedorchak Cucura.  She was a 1940 graduate of Olyphant High School and was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, Olyphant.She was previously employed by RCA, NJ and retired from Pawnee Pants, Olyphant.  She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles and was a member of the Jessup Senior Citizen Center.She is survived by a daughter, Carol Zadarosni and friend, Frank Cole, Jessup; a son, Michael Rutsky and fiancée, Lisa, of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren: Cindy Dominiecki, Ron Zadarosni, Nathan Brownell, Kiley and Austin Rutsky.; 2 great grandchildren: Michael and Brian Dominiecki; several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Dorothy Pish, Mildred Snitzer and Elizabeth Taylor and 3 brothers: Walter, Joseph and Andrew Cucura.She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be dearly missed.  The family would like to thank the nurses at Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care.Funeral services will be on Friday at 9AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Divine Liturgy will follow at 9:30AM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Greek Catholic Church, River St., Olyphant.  Msgr. Stephen Hrynuck, pastor will preside.  Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home.  Parastas will be held at 7PM.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to: Ss.
