Genevieve Lukasik

Genevieve “Jenny” Lukasik, 78, of Olyphant, died on Wednesday at Dunmore Healthcare Center, Dunmore.  Her husband of 53 years is Lawrence Lukasik, Sr. Born and raised in Mayfield,  she resided in Olyphant for the last 53 years.  She was the daughter of the late Pauline and Joseph Tolerico and was a graduate of Mayfield High School.   She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, a former member of their Altar Rosary Society and a former CCD teacher.  She enjoyed bowling, making cookies and playing cards with her girlfriends on Sunday night. She is survived by: three daughters: Teri Hancock and Laurie Ann Munley, both of Olyphant and Susie Smith, San Diego, CA;  four sons: Lawrence, Jr., Mt. Cobb, Raymond, Dunmore, Martin, Oakford Park, IL and Stephen, Pittsburgh; four sisters: Mary Haynos, Scranton, Paula Osborn, CA, Betty Nolan and Angie Carachillo, both of Carbondale; one brother: Thomas, Carbondale; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Cleary; one sister, Antoinette Ingemi and five brothers: Joseph, James, Frank, Anthony and Angelo. The funeral mass will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lincoln Avenue, Olyphant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church.  There will be no public calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.  To make contributions go to:  http://www.epartnersingiving.com/genevievejennylukasik.
