Agnes F. Kuzmak, 82, a lifelong resident of Blakely, died on Thursday night at Lackawanna County Healthcare Center, Sturges. Her husband, Edward A., of over 40 years, died in 1989. Born in Scranton, her parents were the late Patrick and Agnes Ward Kelly. She was a graduate of St. Ann’s School, Scranton and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. She was previously employed by Holiday Nursing Home, Allied Nursing Home and retired from Clarks Summit State Hospital. She was a former Lackawanna County Committee Woman for the Democratic Party, a foster mother and was active with the VFW Shopa-Davey Post No. 6082, Peckville. She lived for her grandchildren, loved travelling and playing bingo. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lackawanna County Health Care Center and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion of Agnes. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Lawrence D. Penetar, Blakely; twin grandchildren, Teresa A. and Edward D., Philadelphia; two sisters, Margaret Walsh and Ann Nichols, both of Blakely; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and James Kelly and one sister, Mary Williams. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant. Msgr. John Sempa, Wilkes-Barre, will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
