MaryAnn B. Hudak, 77, of Peckville, died on Monday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph J. They celebrated their anniversary on October 8th.
Born in Peckville, she resided there most of her life. Her parents were Andrew M. & Anna Fedorchak Kondash. She was a graduate of Holy Ghost School and Blakely High School, Class of 1950.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant and their Christian Mothers’ Society and a former member of their choir. She was a regular guest at the MidValley Women’s Club meetings and enjoyed singing with her daughter’s choir in Carbondale.
She retired from WEA, Olyphant, in the late 1980′s with over 15 years of service. She was a gifted cook, baker, seamstress and flower and vegetable gardener.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. O’Shea and husband, Patrick J. “P.J.”, Olyphant and Doreen H. Coleman and husband, Patrick N., Carbondale; one sister, Eleanor A. Kurilla, Olyphant; one brother, Robert A. Kondash and wife, Carol, MT and sister-in-law Ann Marie Kondash, Archbald; two grandchildren: Ashley L. Miranda and husband, Jonathan, Guayaquil, Ecuador and Patrick J. O’Shea, Olyphant; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew M. Kondash & a brother-in-law, Stephen Kurilla.
The funeral will be at 9AM on Friday, from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30AM at Holy Ghost Church, Willow Street, Olyphant. The Reverend Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.
