Mary Lucille Watson

Mary Lucille Watson, 81, of Olyphant, died on Wednesday morning at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.  Her husband, John M., died in May 1996.  They were married for almost 50 years. Born in Peckville, she resided in Olyphant for most of her life, but lived in Scranton for 15 years.  Daughter of the late James and Mary Stanton Gaughan, she was a graduate of Olyphant High School and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.  She retired from NEIU in special education with over 25 years of service. She was very active with the YMCA of Dunmore for 20 years and since retirement enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She is survived by two sons: John M. and wife, Sandy, Roaring Brook Twp. and James J., Olyphant; a daughter, Linda M. Saslo and husband, James, Scott Twp.; four grandchildren: Elizabeth and Alli Watson and Brian and David Saslo; and three brothers: James Gaughan, Maryland, Joseph Gaughan, Dickson City and Eugene Gaughan, Carlisle.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by a grandson, McClay Watson and one brother, Jack Gaughan. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 9AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.  Mass will follow at 9:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.  Rev. Thomas M.
