Buddy Cole

June 14, 1958 — November 8, 2009

Buddy Cole, 51, of Olyphant., died on Sunday morning at home after a courageous battle with cancer.  His wife is the former Laurie J. Cucura.  They celebrated their 28th anniversary on August 8th. Born in Wilmington, NC, he resided in Olyphant for the last 21 years and prior to that Columbia, SC.  His parents were the late Beatrice Hair and Burnice B. Cole, Jr.  He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was employed by Cinram for the last 17 years. A very unselfish person, Buddy truly enjoyed life.  He had a love for music and liked cooking for his friends.  Everyone will remember his great sense of humor and how he just liked to have fun.  He was a avid sports fan who rooted for the Indianapolis Colts, Boston Red Sox and the SC Gamecocks.  He loved his two dogs, Beauregard and Lily. Surviving are a daughter, Breanne E.; at home; one sister, Linda Jackson, Columbia, SC and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care, love and compassion given to Buddy and their entire family. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 9:30AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.  Divine Liturgy will follow at 10AM at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Greek Catholic Church, River St., Olyphant.  Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor will preside.
