Joseph J Tokash

Joseph J. Tokash, 85, of Blakely, died on Tuesday evening at Community Medical Center, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Hoban.  They celebrated their 57th anniversary on Feb 21st.  Born in Olyphant, he resided in Blakely for the last 57 years.  He was the son of the late Anna Gloss and John Tokarz and was a graduate of Olyphant High School.    He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant Bow, Rod & Gun Club and the Chrysler Golf League.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and trips to Las Vegas.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Community Medical Center ICU for their care.  He is survived by one daughter: Diane Siderowicz and husband, Frank, Eynon; two sons: Joseph J and wife, Jeanne, Sayre and Mark and wife, Paula, Dickson City; one sister: Catherine Renceivicz, Hanover, PA; one brother: Frank Tokarz, Justus; four grandchildren: Lindsey, Isabelle, Brittany and Declan; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers: George, John & Julius Tokarz and three sisters: Mary Menago, Emily Tokarz and Helen Gardecki.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9AM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will follow at 9:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lincoln Avenue, Olyphant. Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Blakely.  Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  To make contributions, please visit:  http://www.epartnersingiving.com/josephjtokash
