George D Priblo

October 16, 1925 — November 19, 2009

George D. Priblo, 84, of Peckville, died on Thursday at AseraCare Hospice at MidValley Hospital, Peckville.  He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Spager.  They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on March 2nd. Born in Olyphant, he resided there most of his life.  His parents were George & Frances Priblo.  He was a graduate of Olyphant High School. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle Stars. He was a member of Holy Ghost Church, American Legion Raymond Henry Post #327, and Queen City Hose Co. No. 8, all in Olyphant. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was an Olyphant postal carrier for over 30 years.  After retirement, he was a driver for S.W.A.D.E Auto Auction. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Battle Stars. George enjoyed fishing and trap shooting.  A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by one daughter, Lois Booth and husband, Noel, Olyphant; two sons: George J. and wife, Deborah, Throop and David and wife, Marie, Olyphant; one brother, John, Binghamton, NY; seven grandchildren: Hollie Lute, Justin, Owen Booth, Jennifer, Morgan Booth, Alex and Danielle; several nieces and nephews. Military services will be held by the American Legion on Monday at 8:45AM from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30AM at Holy Ghost Church, Willow Street, Olyphant.  The Reverend Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of the donor’s choice or http://www.epartnersingiving.com/georgedpriblo. For directions or on-line condolences, please visitwww.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
