Margaret D. Walsh, a resident of Blakely, died Tuesday night at VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center, Scranton. She
was the widow of Thomas W. Walsh, who died January 28, 1994.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes Ward Kelly. She attended St. Ann’s
school in Scranton and was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica. For a time during WWII, she and her husband, Thomas, lived in Elizabeth, NJ.
Margaret enjoyed being a housewife and attending bingo and church picnics.
Surviving is a son, Thomas P. Walsh and daughter-in-law, Laurie A. Walsh, Blakely, a daughter Margaret Ann Walsh,
Mayfield, a sister Ann Nichols, Blakely, grandchildren; Frank B.Walsh, Rebekah Anne Walsh, Hannah Lee Walsh and Brittney Walsh Piwowarski, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were brothers; John Kelly and James Kelly and sisters; Mary Williams and Agnes Kuzmak.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave. Olyphant, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Ann’s Basilica. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
