Stephen Youshock, Sr., 77, of Jefferson Township died on Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospice, Scranton. He was the husband of Shirley Havrilak Youshock, who died in November, 1997. Born in Jessup, he lived in Jefferson Township for the last 12 years. Prior to that he resided in Olyphant. He was the son of Stephen and Tillie Chiddalo Youshock and a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church, Olyphant. He was a graduate of Olyphant High School, Class of 1950. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in February, 1971 with 22 years of service and was part of the Strategic Air Command. He was an excellent chef, woodcarver and artist. He is survived by a two daughters: Eileen Evanina and husband, John, Olyphant and Sharon Zator and husband, Patrick, Gouldsboro; two sons: Stephen, Jr. and Richard, both of Jefferson Township; grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Sarah, John, Shawn, Eric, Tiffany, Stephen, Stephanie, R.J. and Sarah; great-grandchildren: Brittany, Hunter, Bradley, Peyton, Hayley and Michael, III; two sisters: Helen Demian and Georgann Rusak, both of Olyphant. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph; a grandson, Patrick; a great granddaughter, Carleigh; a brother, Stanford; and a sister, Kathryn. Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday at 9:30AM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Greek Catholic Church, River St., Olyphant. Rev. John Wysochansky will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Military Honors will be held by American Legion Post 274, Gouldsboro at the cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7PM at the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
