Thomas S. Fumanti of Olyphant, died on Friday at home. His wife, Mary L. Crothomel Fumanti died on September 4, 2005. They were married for 38 years.Born in Olyphant, he was a lifelong resident. His parents were Salvatore and Mildred Lapic Fumanti. He was a 1958 graduate of Olyphant High School; a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church and the American Legion Raymond Henry Post 327, Olyphant.He was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp., Scranton with 38 years of service, retiring in 2000.He was a U. S. Army veteran with the 101st Airborne Division for 6 years and a member of the PA National Guard, 109th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion for 17 years in Scranton.He enjoyed gardening and was a loving brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary & Peter Ghilardi, Jessup and Ceil & James Gilgallon, Olyphant; 2 sisters-in-law: Anita Fumanti, Olyphant and JoAnn Fumanti, Scranton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Frank and Samuel Fumanti.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Monday from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 9:30AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
