Winifred M. O?Connor of Olyphant, died peacefully at home on Friday surrounded by her family. Her husband, Joseph M. died in 1978. They were married for 25 years.Born in Jessup, she was a longtime resident of Olyphant. Her parents were the late James and Gertrude Healey Murray. A graduate of St. Patrick?s High School, Olyphant, she was a member of St. Patrick?s Church, Olyphant where she was a member of their choir for over 30 years. She was also a member of Our Ladies Rosary Makers of Olyphant, who distributed more than 400,000 rosaries all over the World.She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone Co. prior to raising her family.She is survived by four sons: Timothy & wife, Sandy, Jessup; Mark, Olyphant; Joseph & wife, Dorette, Scranton; and Martin & wife, Maureen, Jessup; two daughters: Noreen & Ann O?Connor, both of Olyphant; 2 brothers: Edward Murray, Towson, MD and Fr. Donnon Murray,O.F.M., Tokyo, Japan; 8 grandchildren; 6 great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph, Eugene, James and 2 sisters: Mary Clauss and Jule Walsh.The family would like to express their gratitude to Kim Felkowski, friend and caregiver and also to the staff of NEPA Home Health & Hospice.The funeral will be held at 9AM on Wednesday from the Hudak-O?Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Mass will be at 9:30AM at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick?s Church, Delaware St., Olyphant.
