Gertrude C Oravec

Gertrude C. Oravec, 86, of Philadelphia, died on Tuesday morning at Aria Health Hospital, Torresdale Campus, Philadelphia.  Her husband of 41 years is John A. Oravec.Born and raised in Jessup, she then resided in Stratford, CT and since her marriage, Philadelphia.  She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Hubal Phillips and a graduate of Jessup High School.She was formerly employed by General Electric, Stratford.A woman of great faith, she was a member of St. Martha’s R.C. Church, Philadelphia and a former member of St. Michael’s R.C. Church, Jessup.She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Petorak.Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 9:30AM at St. Michael’s R. C. Church, 1st Avenue, Jessup.Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.There are no public calling hours.Memorial Contributions may be made to:  Sisters of Ss.
