Marguerite C. Pietralczyk, a lifelong resident of Throop, died Saturday at Northeast PA Hospice, Scranton. Her husband Frank B. died on March 27, 1992. They were married 37 years.Born in Throop, her parents were the late Sylvester and Rose Muto Schank. She was a graduate of Throop High School and a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop.She is survived by two daughters: Joanne Franchetti and husband, Tom, Olyphant and Karen Gasper and husband, John, Jermyn; five grandchildren: Nicole Franchetti and fiance, Michael Larsen, Chris and Craig Franchetti and John and Emily Gasper; one brother, Robert Schank, New Kensington; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a best friend Theresa Balderson (who was usually wrong).She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice; one sister, Lena Coccimiglio (Cosmello) and two brothers: Carmen and Joseph “Tucky” Schank.She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events, playing bingo and cards and trips to the casino.The family would like thank Dr. Anees R. Fogley and Sandy Wilbur for their compassion and care.Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30AM at Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony’s Church, Throop. Rev. James P. Dougher, pastor, will preside.Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Throop.There will be no calling hours.
