Keith Stephen Kohut

Keith Stephen Kohut, 45, of Scott Township, died on Thursday at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.  His wife and childhood sweetheart is the former Elaine Coggins.  They celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on October 19th.Born in Scranton, he resided in Scott Township for the last 12 years.  His father is Stephen James Kohut, Scranton, his mother and step-father are Carolyn Kohut Wesnesky and Jack A., Clarks Summit.  He was a 1986 graduate of Riverside High School, Taylor, received a B.S. in Accounting from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre and his M.B.A. from the University of Scranton.He was employed as controller at Olympia Chimney, Scranton and previously by Lockheed Martin, Eynon.  Keith was a member of the Scott Township Lions Club, coached Scott Township Little League, soccer and softball and was the current treasurer of the Scott Township Little League.  He was a member, ordained elder and a past treasurer of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, Scranton.Keith enjoyed all of his children’s’ activities, attending Dave Matthews concerts with his wife and friends and was happy to see his childhood team, the Seattle Seahawks, finally win the Super Bowl.He is also survived by one son, Nicholas, two daughters, Natalie and Allison, all at home;  Mother-in-law, Helen N. Coggins, Dickson City; two sisters-in-law, Suzan Russen and husband, Michael, Scott Township and Linda Breza and husband, Tom, Moosic; one brother-in-law, James Coggins and wife, Lisa, Brunswick, GA; three nieces, Emily and Erica Russen and Jessica Coggins; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Coggins, Sr.Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM on Tuesday at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant by Msgr. Michael J.
