Helen M. Wisniewski, 88, a lifelong resident of Dickson City, died Tuesday at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital. Her husband of 59 years, Walter F., died Dec. 18, 2008.Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Paul and Anna Grick Kishel, she was a graduate of Holy Ghost School, Olyphant and attended Dickson City High School. Helen retired in 1988 from Classic Dress, Dickson City, with 25 years of service. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant, now Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking.She is survived by two sons, Raymond J. and wife, Sharon, Lititz; and Walter F. Jr. and wife, Denise A., Dillsburg; a daughter, Mary Ellen Ruda and husband, Joseph P., Bloomsburg; a brother, Paul Kishel, East Aurora, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mae Ramos, Pauline Oleski and Mary Wallo; and three brothers, Stephen, Albert and Edmund Kishel.The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Hudak-O’Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, to be officiated by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Dickson City.Friends may call Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home.Contributions may be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels of Lackawanna County, 541 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.For directions or to leave online condolences, visitwww.hudak-osheafuneralhome.com.
