James Alois Haas of Olyphant died Wednesday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lynn (nee Yablonsky) Haas.Born in Santa Monica, California, on May 14, 1964, son of Professor James Anthony and Judie Sullivan Haas, Glenburn, he attended Abington schools, and was a 1983 graduate of St. Francis Prep, Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. He received his B.S. degree from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, 1987.Jamie was a pilot for JetBlue Airways. He had a love of flying and a love of nature. He touched the lives of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.He was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.Jamie was a grandson of the late Dr. Alois Thomas Haas and Helen Elizabeth Walsh Haas, Missoula, Montana, and Anguila, West Indies. He was also a grandson of the late Thomas Handy Sullivan and Ottilie Josephine Sullivan, Springfield, Illinois.Surviving are two dear children, Kevin and Katherine; sister, Anne Elizabeth and husband, Gary Moore, Baltimore, Maryland and children, Lucia, James, Thomas, and Christopher; brothers, Andrew of Mayfield, Jonathan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Robert of Wilkes-Barre; an uncle, Richard Sullivan of Springfield, Illinois; an aunt, Dolores Haas Larsen of Haleiwa, Hawaii, and several cousins.Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Street, Olyphant. Msgr. Michael J.
