Joseph R. Weston, 92, a resident of Blakely for most of his life, died on Monday night at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife is the former Leona G. Fedorchak. They were married for 72 years.Born in Jessup, son of the late Ernest and Mary Fischi Weston, he was a graduate of Jessup High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and its former bowling league. He was a past vice president of the Blakely-Peckville Lions Club and the Blakely Boosters. Joe was an avid sports fan for the former Blakely Bears and the Valley View Cougars. During his retirement, he enjoyed many hours pencil sketching.He was employed and retired from Metropolitan Life with 25 years of service. He earned high distinction as a capable and conscientious adviser in the insurance affairs of his clientele. His professional services in 1967 placed him in the foremost ranks of company representatives as a member of the Metropolitan Millionaires’ Club.He is survived by two sons, Joseph A. and wife, Lorraine; and Ernie and wife, Carol, all of Peckville; a sister, Louise Stasium, Philadelphia; a grandson, E.J. and his companion, Susan Rodway; a great-granddaughter, Alaina Grace Catherine Weston; and several nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert.The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Wayne Weston, the doctors and nursing staff at Geisinger Community Medical Center, VNA Hospice, Home Healthcare and Allied Services for their wonderful care for Joe.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow Street, Peckville. Monsignor Peter Madus will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Assumption Mausoleum, Montdale.Friends may call on Monday at 8 at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
